  • The problem statement discussed in the present invention is how to provide an improved process for preparing hydrogenated hydroxyl terminated polybutadiene that selectively hydrogenate the unsaturated double bond of the HTPB by addressing various factors influence the catalytic hydrogenation, i.e. type of catalyst that affect the selectivity of hydrogenation that influence the solubility of reactants including other issues.

  • Present patent describes a process for hydrogenation of a hydroxyl terminated polybutadiene (HTPB) in presence of Pd-Zr/ charcoal catalyst and an organic solvent system to prepare various levels of degree of hydrogenated hydroxyl terminated polybutadiene (5%-90%).
  • This hydrogenated HTPB can be used as an advanced binder for composite solid propellant system.

The process comprises the step of:

  • Hydrogenating the HTPB in presence of hydrogen gas, Pd-Zr/activated charcoal catalyst, & an organic solvent system at a temperature (180℃ to 270℃) to obtain 40%-60% degree of hydrogenated hydroxyl terminated polybutadiene.

Experimental Setup for Hydrogenation of HTPB:

The process was carried out in reactor with magnetically driven variable speed impeller (Fig.4). The process is carried out at room temperature for a period of 6h to 12h.

Catalyst details:

  • Pd, Zr and charcoal in the catalyst is in the weight ratio of 2% to 5 % palladium, 5% to 8 % zirconium and 87% to 93 % charcoal based on total weight of catalyst. (Fig. 3)
  • The amount of catalyst is in the range of 1.5 to 2.5 % of the hydroxyl terminated polybutadiene.
  • Charcoal is activated charcoal.
  • Organic solvent system is selected from isopropyl alcohol, toluene, cyclohexene, methanol, or combination thereof.

Utility:

  • The present invention provides the use of the selectively partially hydrogenated hydroxyl terminated polybutadiene for the binder of a composite solid propellant system, polymer modification, synthesis of polyurethanes (thermoplastic and thermo-setting), encapsulants, adhesives and sealants, high temperature grease, and coatings etc.
  • The composition and methods are effective in the synthesis of HHTPB in large scale for making solid propellant industries like ISRO, DRDO, Ordinance factories and others.

The actuator [no actuator is to selectively adjust the movement of the head & the plurality of arms depending on the sensed proximity. 

C) Controller:

The controller is configured to receive the input detected by the plurality of the sensors & actuates the actuator to selectively adjust the length of the head & the plurality of arms via telescopic movement.

 D)Remote Operation Monitoring:

A communication module facilitates the interaction of the device with an application installable on a computing device, through which an operation of the device may be configured and controlled remotely.

Problem Statement

  • Protection of metal surfaces, particularly the optical shine of silver, against the environment is a challenge. Daily usage of silver articles (mainly, the cutlery, crockery and the tableware) needs special protection against mechanical abrasion. The coatings technology imposes additional challenge of complex shapes of the silver / metal articles.
  • When high refractive index ophthalmic lenses are to be used, one needs an anti-reflection coatings which should have high and uniform (over the entire visible wavelength range) refractive index and abrasive resistance coatings compatible with lens coating technology.   
  • Hence, there is a need to address the issues.

Technology

  • Present invention describes a method of preparing a coating material which is the mixed metal oxides of Titanium & Silicon prepared at 300K (Room temperature).
  • The solution can be used for anti-tarnish and protective coatings on metal surfaces.
  • The basic method comprising the following step as illustrated in the smart chart:

Basic Process Flow Diagram:

  • The titania-silica based coating material can be prepared at room temperature and can be deposited on any complex shapes and has anti-reflection and mechanical abrasion resistance coating on optical materials.
  • Said titania-silica based coating material can be used as protective coating layer for silver metal & silver alloys.
  • Furthermore, the claimed invention deals with any wavelength of the anti-reflection application & the refractive index of the present invention is a key outcome which is depicted in Fig. 1.
  • The titania-silica based coating can be used as anti-reflection and mechanical abrasion resistance coatings on optic lenses including plastic lenses.
  • The protective coatings are deposited by dip coating technique of desired thickness.
  • Table 1 provides the summary of adhesion & hardness results for TiO2, SiO2, & TiO2+SiO2 thin films on glass as 2 and 4 layers.

  • The present invention describes a multiple cone-air splitter based fan device which provides consistent flow rate by distributing the air in a uniform velocity & thereby effectively circulate air in domestic & commercial environments.
  • The multiple cone-air splitter based fan device comprising a cylindrical housing, an axial fan with motor, a multiple cone-air splitter unit, at least four screw rod locknut.
  • The cylindrical housing facilitates the air intake into the fan device.
  • The multiple cone-air splitter unit provides a consistent flow rate by distributing the air in a uniform velocity.

Problem Statement

  • The present invention describes a system and process for recovering water & nutrients from urine.
  • The System includes a urine storage tank, a hydrolysis tank, a distillation column, a steam generator, a condenser, a struvite reactor & an electrochemical reactor.
  • The hydrolysis tank is configured to hydrolyse urea present in urine to ammonium & bicarbonate.
  • The distillation column convert ammonium to gaseous ammonia at temp>100⁰C at operating pressure < 0.5 bar.
  • Said steam generator is configured to generate steam into the distillation column.
  • Said condenser is configured to condense gaseous ammonia to liquid ammonia & obtained depleted urine.
  • Said struvite reactor is configured to obtained ammonia & phosphate depleted urine.
  • The Electrochemical reactor is configured to degrade pollutants in the depleted urine to the top of the reactor.

  • An improved method & device for ultrasound imaging using compressed sensing (CS) approach is disclosed depict in Figures.
  • Explains about focused image acquisition strategy based on Gaussian distribution.
  • The proposed invention specifically describes about the strategically acquire raw ultrasound echo RF signal from only underdamped transducer array aperture and utilize compressed sensing calculations on these RF data to recover the missing data, before an image is formed.
  • The proposed method involved said CS-recovered RF data which are analogous to the full sampled RF data of a larger aperture being under sampled in both lateral & axial direction.
  • The proposed sampling scheme chooses the location of active receive elements randomly from a larger aperture wherein the locations of the active receive elements are chosen from the Gaussian distribution, with a mean of the distribution at the center of the larger aperture.
  • RF data acquired from the chosen receive elements are then randomly under  sampled in the axial direction based on either using uniform distribution or Gaussian distribution, with a mean of the distribution at the transmit focus.             
  • The beam formed RF data matrix is demodulated & log compressed to obtain the ultra sound image.

  • Said method of nucleation, condensation and collision coalescence of liquid droplets on a nano particulate matrix made of long chain nano particle chains of fumed silica with hydrophilic chain having spots of untreated silica regions which are hydrophilic to continuously produce liquid marbles.
  • Produced liquid marbles are having controlled size in the range of 3µm to 1000 µm.

Problem Statement

  • Generally, there are many treatment methods have already available for wastewater treatment by using functionalized nanocomposites, which is expensive and tedious process.
  • Hence, there is a need to mitigate above challenges efficiently.

Technology

  1. The present invention describes a process for the preparation of nanocomposite adsorbents for the removal of dyes from wastewaters of Industrial effluents.
  2. The proposed process consists of mainly three steps which are illustrated in the smart chart A and suitable figures.
  3. The three different dimensional nanomaterial before & after have been characterized by UV-visible and FTIR-spectrum for ensuring color absorbance, shown in Fig.1a,,1b,1c.

  • 1st step explains the preparation of nanocomposites from at least one substances of the following group of nanometals & nanomaterial oxides;
  • 2nd step talks about passing the waste-water through at least nanofiltration membrane

Technical Perspective:

  • The nanocomposites are prepared from selected group of nanometals & nanometal oxides like Au, Ag, Fe, Co, Ni, Pt, Pd, Ru, ZnO. TiO2, MnO2, Fe2O3, Fe3O4 dispersed on a support material consisting of two or three different dimensional nanomaterials selected from namely carbon nanotubes, thermally exfoliated graphite, chemically exfoliated graphite oxide, graphene sheets, graphene functionalized carbon nanotubes/graphene.
  • The Nanofilteration membrane is configured of a biocompatible material such as chitosan, polypyrote.
  • The nanocomposites are being further treated with an inorganic acid for re-using said nanocomposites, (inorganic acids consists of hydrochloric, sulphuric, and nitric acid).
  • Optimum conditions for all dyes removal were obtained with absorbent dosage of 100ppm of dye in 1 litre of water per gram with an equilibrium time of 1 hour.

Industrial Perspective:

  • Cost effective & simple eco-friendly sustainable process for wastewater treatment thereafter reuse water.
  • Facilitates the experimental results by the removal of Tolune blue, Evan’s blue, Trypan blue, Eosin yellow & Coomassic Brilliant Blue from aqueous solutions, VAT dye, AZO dye &industrial wastewaters.

Problem Statement

  • In the present era, there is a growing possibility for the use of aerial robotic system or unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) in multiple applications. There is a renewed interest in  designing such systems to achieve better performance.
  • The multirotor/quadrotor fits into the class of unmanned aerial systems and the critical parameters of a multirotor are its size, payload carrying capability, and endurance.
  • One of critical factors to decide the utility of the quadrotors for a particular application is its payload capacity. The usual practice to increase payload carrying capability is by increasing the size of propeller or increasing the number of rotors . However, increased no. of rotors and size of the rotors in conventional design is not considered as a good alternative.
  • Hence, the present patent is introduced to address the above issues in an efficient manner.

  • Present Patent describes an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) configuration comprises more than one frames, plurality of motors, plurality of propellers, landing gears and a standoff, designed efficiently and illustrated in figures.
  • Said patent relates to a vertically offset overlapping propulsion system (VOOPS).
  • VOOPS is a characteristic propeller configuration with a layered design, featured in smart chart hereinbelow.
